Is Anyone Out There?

NEW FACE BOOK SETTINGS RESTRICTS THE POSTS YOU SEE …

Have you noticed anyone missing from your newsfeed and then you go to their wall and see they have been posting, but you aren’t seeing them? Or that the updates in your newsfeed seem to be from the same people? And when you post things like status messages, photos and links, the same people are commenting and everyone else seems to be ignoring you?

You might be thinking that you have been intentionally blocked. This may be the case, but more likely it is because the “New Facebook” has a newsfeed setting that, by default, is automatically set to only show posts from “Friends and pages you interact with most” (which would be limited to the couple of weeks just before people started switching to the new profile).

For both business and personal pages, unless your friends and fans commented on one of your posts within those few weeks or vice versa – you are now invisible to them and they are invisible to you!

HERE’S THE FIX:
Scroll down to the bottom of your HOME page (the News Feed page) and click on “Edit Options” on the bottom right. In the “Edit your News Feed” popup, click on the dropdown menu next to ‘Show posts from’: and select “All of your friends and pages” and then click Save.

Now you need to get the word out to all your friends. Simply posting an update about it won’t do any good because, by default, only those you have recently interacted with can see your posts. You’ll have to send out a message or write on the walls of your friends or post an event explaining the situation and invite your entire fan base and/or friend list. You can also blog or tweet about it hoping to spread the word virally. Feel free to click the Tweet and Facebook buttons above to share this.

Great post. Thanks for sharing. It is hard to keep up with the constant changes on Facebook.

Thank you Stacy. I appreciate all your tips on Social Media and your selflessness in sharing with others.
