Not Your Grandmother’s Mall
Posted by Heidi Herne | Filed under ShopGreen, Shopping Tips
I own my own 24×7 online shopping mall. This is definitely not my grandmother’s mall. Oh wait, they didn’t have malls in her day. Back then, you went to the hardware store, the mercantile, the green grocer, and the feed store. If you didn’t grow or make your own, you had someone deliver the milk, the eggs, the bread, and the newspaper. At some point, the height of convenience was to shop from the Sears and Roebuck catalog. You could even buy a build-your-own house from Sears. The modern day equivalent to the convenience of catalog shopping is online shopping. Today there isn’t anything you can’t buy online.
In the United States, in the 21st century, 135 million people were shopping online (by number of participants); and of the most popular internet activities, 45% were shopping and buying online. (According to Pew Research, Jan 28 2009)
This is a four part series on why I love my e-Comerce business specifically because it is not my grandmother’s mall. The really cool thing is that it is so easy, if Granny were alive today she would be shopping there. And since she was so thrifty, she would insist everyone else shop there too.

In the current economy, people are searching for ways to save money and/or supplement their income to benefit their families. We want to show that it is possible live green and chemical free, be healthier, and save green (cash). We found a green opportunity that combines e-Commerce with the Environmental movement. We save money on all our shopping including “green” products, reduce our carbon footprint, and receive residual income with minimal capital outlay.
In the next 3 parts I will discuss various aspects of Why I love my e-Comerce Business (Not Your Grandmother’s Mall):
Part 2: SAVE AND EARN CASH
Part 3: CONVENIENCE
Part 4: GREEN LIFESTYLE
I will conclude with an offer you won’t want to miss, so stay tuned.

This is so true. I also own my own mall. I have saved over $1,400 on the cash back alone. Additionally, I have friends shop thru my mall and I get to earn cash back on their purchases. Just like using coupons – a little adds up over time. Why would I want to pay full retail anymore? I never used to shop online much at all except booking travel. Now there are numerous purchases I have made and saved money – event tickets, car batteries, bluetooth, HD TV, pool supplies, drugstore items, coffee K cups – just to highlight a few.
